Moonlit Paws in the Midnight Café.🐾

Soft paws on wood, a hush so deep, a cat awoke from restless sleep. The air was warm, the lights were low, candles flickered, golden glow.

The floor was smooth, like liquid glass, reflecting moons that watched him pass. The walls, so worn, so rich, so old, held whispers carved in stories told.

He paced and turned, his whiskers twitched, he sniffed the air, coffee’s aroma bewitched. No scent of home, no master's call, just echoes soft through rustic walls.

Through open windows, night poured in, a whispered breeze, both cool and thin. Beyond, the sky, a violet dream, purple trees in starlit gleam.

A bridge arched high, where waters sighed, A lullaby that ebbed and tied. Flowers swayed in velvet night, their petals bathed in lilac light.

The door creaked open, a voice so low, a whisper calling, soft and slow. The cat stood still, his ears held high, a question flickered in his eye.

Then, like a shadow, sleek and fast, He turned, he leapt, he fled at last. Up the bridge, through moonlit air, his silent paws left nothing there.

Among the trees of violet deep, He vanished where the night winds sleep. 🌙 ~Jessica A. Delory
